Kailynn Pressnell - Athlete of the Week - Jan. 2017
Tanner High School
There’s a small-town high school nestled in between Athens and Decatur, which has been making a name for itself over the past several years. The town of Tanner, Alabama and its high school have quickly become a hot topic of discussion around the water cooler, and it’s mainly due to two things; State Championship Teams and outstanding student-athletes, like our next Athlete of the Week. While the varsity football and boys basketball teams are continuing their championship success, Kailynn Pressnell is working to help the varsity softball team get back on the winning track and join the ranks of its constituents. She has been a starter for Rattlers Softball since the 7th grade, but has been playing softball since she was 9 years-old. She’s made the All-Area team, the All-Area Tournament team and has been selected to the All-County softball team the last four seasons, with the hopes of making it five straight, this season. Kailynn currently carries a strong 3.7 GPA and was elected as a class officer for her grade. She is a member of the National Honors Society, Student Council and was chosen as Girls State Representative. Away from the field and away from the classroom, you see a side of Kailynn that makes you know how lucky Tanner High School is to have her. Her desire to do the right thing, the right way has propelled her to serve on the Student Advisory Committee for the Limestone County Sherriff’s Department and on the Leadership Team for the Limestone County Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations, Kailynn!
